Are You Holding Your Breath Right Now?
Thanks for voting for me!!
Maybe. It happens.
There's actually a name for it. Former Microsoft and Apple executive Linda Stone coined the term "screen apnea" after noticing she held her breath while answering emails. She tested roughly 200 people and found most of them did the same thing shallow breathing triggered by screens and the demands of a digital world.
That was 2008. We have a lot more screens now.
Here's what most people don't realize: that unconscious breath-holding is quietly shaping your focus, your mood, and your energy every single day.
The good news? You already have the most versatile performance tool you'll ever use to shift it. You've just never been taught how to use it intentionally.
Your breath is the Swiss Army Knife of life skills. When you know how to use it intentionally it becomes an on-demand reset for whatever the moment demands.
Calm before a big meeting.
Focus when your brain feels foggy.
Energy when the afternoon hits hard.
Same tool. Different technique. Completely different result.
I've spent 20 years teaching people how to shift their inner state to give themselves exactly what they need in any given moment. And the most powerful tool I've ever given anyone costs nothing, requires no equipment, and is always with them.
Which is why Iām so excited to bring this to SXSW 2027!!!
My session "2-Minute Resets For Mornings, Meetings & Meltdowns" teaches five simple breath resets practiced live in the room. No equipment. No special environment. Just the ablity to Power Pause using a skill you'll walk out using the same day, and every day after.
Public voting is open now through August 23rd and your vote makes a real difference. 30% of the selection is determined by community votes.
