The Festivalization Of Wellness Is Trending

When did wellness become so much work?

Track your sleep. Count your steps. Optimize your morning. Measure your recovery. Become a better, healthier, more disciplined version of yourself.

There can be real value in those practices. But sometimes, the constant pursuit of wellness starts to feel like another job.

That’s why I was so excited to read about one of the Global Wellness Summit’s major trends for 2026: “The Festivalization of Wellness.”

Around the world, wellness is becoming more communal, expressive and joyful again. Sober morning dance events, fitness festivals, sauna raves and immersive wellness gatherings are bringing people together through music, movement and shared experiences.

The Global Wellness Summit describes it as a shift toward wellness built on “joy, belonging, and expression.” And honestly, it makes perfect sense.

We’re Wired For Shared Experiences

Music is one of the great unifiers. A song can bring completely different people into the same moment. It can change the energy of a room, spark a memory or make it almost impossible to remain still. Movement gets us out of our heads and back into our bodies. Joy helps us relax our guard, become more present and connect with the people around us.

When we combine those things, wellness becomes more than something we do individually. It becomes something we experience together.

That feels especially meaningful at a time when so much of our lives happens through screens. We may be constantly connected digitally, but that doesn’t always translate into feeling genuinely connected.

Sometimes we need to step away from the screen, turn up the music, and share a real moment with real people.

Wellness Doesn’t Have To Be So Serious

Wellness can be quiet, restorative, and deeply personal. But it can also be playful.

It can be moving to a great song without worrying about how you look. Laughing with someone you just met. Trying something new. Feeling fully present in a moment you don’t want to end.

None of that makes the experience less meaningful. In fact, it might be exactly what many of us need.

The Global Wellness Summit describes this broader movement as choosing “meaning over measurement.”

That doesn’t mean our goals, habits or health data no longer matter. It simply makes room for another way of understanding wellness, one measured by how connected, energized and alive we feel.

Turning The Idea Into An Experience

This is also why I LOVE that this is trending!

Music brings people together. Movement brings them into their bodies. Joy creates the kind of connection they remember.

So I wondered: What if I combined all three and sprinkled in the beauty of Maui?

That’s how the Rise & Vibe Wake Up Party was born.

Set to a soundtrack of fun, upbeat music curated for each group’s tastes and energy, Rise & Vibe weaves together yoga, breathwork, dance and all-levels exercise in one energizing silent-disco experience.

It is, how shall we say… A VIBE IN THE MOST MAUI SORT OF WAY! 🎧🌴✨

And if a group isn’t into mornings, we can bring that same energy to sunset with Glow & Flow.

Because wellness can feel like a party and be good for you at the same time. With me, it does anyway!
